On April 19th at 8:11 PM, Skynet was supposed to become aware. In the Terminator franchise that day is known as Judgment Day, when the machines turns against us. On April 19th Judgment Day didn’t come obviously. Twitter though was buzzing with the fact that the day had arrived.

Canonical has released the next version of Ubuntu which carries the version number 11.04 and the codename Natty Narwhal. The free and open source Linux distribution, which entered beta about a month ago, is now ready for download for laptops, desktops, netbooks and servers from the project’s Web site, offering computer uses around the globe a no-cost, feature-packed alternative to Microsoft Windows and other operating systems.

Microsoftn has announced on Wednesday that NoDo update is ready for number of carriers. It is scheduling the update for delivery on AT&T’s HTC Surround and several Deutsche Telekom devices. Microsoft is expected to deliver the NoDo update to both sets of devices in the next 10 days. Microsoft is also delivering NoDo to Australian Optus users.

Redbox will officially start offering video game rentals in more than 21,000 locations starting June 17th and will offer titles for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii in their rental kiosks.The company started experimenting with video game rentals almost two years ago after successfully expanding their test offering last October to 5,000 locations, but for 21,000+ other locations there’s now a whole new reason to stand behind someone that wants to check each and every title available when all you want to do is return a disc…………

Google has released an update version of Gingerbread to enable the much awaited Gtalk video chat option on their flagship mobile phone, Samsung Nexus S. The update will be rolled out to all Nexus S phones in the coming weeks. Company also announced that rest of the Android 2.3+ devices will get the update in future.

Sprint starts selling Motorola Xoom WiFi (not WiMAX) May 8th for $600 and the carrier will start selling folks the sweet Honeycomb slate soon enough, but a Xoom sans Sprint cellular data is a bit of a letdown.4G LTE for the XOOM being pushed back until Summer it is clear that Motorola doesn’t have the right hardware just yet for 4G and maybe when the 4G LTE upgrades for current 3G XOOM’s start to roll out in Summer…………
