Microsoft may be spending enormous amount of money and development effort on Windows Phone 7, but for now, it’s making more money off of Android than it is from Windows Phone 7 and Microsoft gets five times as much money from Android than it does from Windows Phone 7, because of a settlement in an intellectual property infringement case against HTC. The terms of the settlement call for HTC to pay $5 to Microsoft for every Android device HTC sells and HTC has sold 30 million Android smartphones, and so Microsoft has taken in $150 million so far as a result of the suit…………

eBay’s payment arm has sued for theft of trade secrets and breach of contract, the same day Google introduced its mobile payment system and at issue are the actions of two former PayPal employees who left to join Google. Stephanie Tilenius was hired by Google toward the end of June 2010, when she became Google VP of commerce and payments, then she left PayPal in October 2009 and PayPal claims she was bound by contract not to solicit PayPal employees until March 2011………….

The Verizon line up got a new addition late last week as a second LTE smartphone finally made its way on to the network, the Samsung Droid Charge and with steeper price tag of $299.99 compared to the $250 Thunderbolt, the Samsung Droid Charge will no doubt have to pack something extra if it hopes to steal some of that thunder away from the Thunderbolt. Specs wise both are quite similar, with the HTC Thunderbolt and Samsung Droid Charge packing similar sized 4.3-inch displays, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 1GHz single core processors and Android 2.2 Froyo and the differences here are subtle, with the Samsung Droid Charge going with Super AMOLED technology and a Hummingbird chipset, while the Thunderbolt sticks with TFT LCD and a Snapdragon chip……..
