AMD has announced that it has updated its line of Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) with new version of its Series C and Series E processors, this update is targeting a wide array of computer ranging from ultrathin laptops to desktop computers. The updated Zacate and Ontario APUs sport DDR-1333 and HDMI 1.4a support, snaring bragging rights to faster memory and 3D output for 3D-enabled televisions and promise an increased resting battery life up to 10.5 hours for the E-Series and a staggering 12 hours on the C-Series……………….

Skype has agreed to acquire New York-based start-up GroupMe, a move that gets the Internet-calling giant into the increasingly crowded business of providing group messaging services on smartphones and GroupMe’s application lets users text and make conference calls with circles of friends or colleagues. The deal was confirmed as Microsoft is still in the process of seeking approvals from regulators to seal its $8.5 billion acquisition of Skype and Skype CEO Tony Bates says that he’s been talking to the company for a few months………….

Research In Motion is preparing to roll out its own music streaming service for BlackBerrys in an attempt to compete with Apple and more reports suggested that the service will charge $5 a month for 50 songs. The BlackBerry Messenger Music Service will arrive as a beta in the U.S., Canada and the UK in early September and subscribers will not be able to export music to PCs, but they will be able to transfer it to their PlayBook tablet. RIM is aiming to use the new subscription music service as a source to revive interest in its BlackBerry Messenger functionality……………

A quick look at it reveals how Apple is involved in most number of patent lawsuits and Android makers are often at the other end and also it would be interesting to see how Motorola’s acquisition by Google will help the in these and future patent problems………….

iOS 5 beta 6 can be jailbroken by one of the previous methods explained in iOS 5 beta 5 and it seems that Apple hasn’t patched the exploit in this update but, keep in mind if you’re jailbreak, automatic updates won’t your so you have to download the iOS 5 Beta 6 from the developers page. iOS 5 beta 6 can be jailbroken using Redsn0w 0.9.8b5, although it’s just a tethered-only jailbreak so far and iOS 5 is compatible with a bunch of devices, the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G, iPad and iPad 2. Redsn0w 0.9.8b5 is available for Mac and Windows and if you’re a developer, then you probably have plenty of experience with iOS devices, but then again it’s not just developers that get access to the latest iOS beta versions…………..
