Chinese electronics giant TCL and the country’s largest ISP Tencent has unveiled a 26-inch smart TV with a 1,366 x 768 display called the Ice Screen. This 26-inch smart TV is touted as “the world’s first large screen mobile entertainment smart cloud product.” That is, it packs a 26-inch portable screen, a video player, a music and photo album, and HD video communications capability.
Ice Screen will enable consumers to access Tencent’s Web services via cloud computing. The 26-inch smart TV is powered by Google’s Android operating system (OS). Ice Screen is powered by a dual-core ARM Cortex A9 1GHz processor. Besides it has Mali 400 GPU, 4GB RAM, Wi-Fi connectivity, microSD memory card slot (up to 32 GB supported memory card), USB ports, HDMI connectivity, 3.5mm headphone jack, and IR remote control.
The 26-inch Android-powered Smart TV can be pre-ordered in China. It’ll cost you 1,999 yuan (US$314.60) if you pre-order before the official launch. Oh! I forgot to mention you, it’ll officially be launched on September 3.
