iHome iW1 AirPlay Rechargeable Speaker System Now Available
There are a plethora of speaker options available on the market, but only one system promises to deliver a portable and rechargeable speaker with AirPlay enabled and iHome iW1 AirPlay wireless audio system finally available now. The iW1 is a portable speaker system that uses AirPlay wireless audio streaming technology, enabling music lovers to play their favorite tunes anywhere with a home Wi-Fi network, it can receive music from Wi-Fi connected sources like iTunes and iDevices. According to the company, a quick trip to an Apple Store, Best Buy or Crutchfield should let you snag one and the latter’s site won’t have any until November 3rd………………….

Warpia’s StreamHD Value Edition does wireless USB to HDMI on the cheap and the Warpia StreamHD Value Edition will cost $40 less, which clearly places it at $140 a pop now, and while forking out more than a Benjamin might not be considered to be cheap, it is still easier on your bank account than the non-Value Edition version. There is also an HDMI cable in the package to further save you more money, but your ears will miss out on 5.1 surround sound, S/PDIF out and the only kind of audio supported over HDMI would be stereo…………………….
HP Will Keep Personal Systems Group (PSG)
HP has decided to retain its Personal Systems Group (PSG), reversing former CEO Leo Apotheker’s plan to exit the PC business and Meg Whitman wants Hewlett-Packard Co. to sell personal computers after all, a dramatic about-face by the H-P chief executive only five weeks into the latest chapter of her sweeping career. Spinning off the PSG would have cost HP a one-time cost of between $300 and $400 million and the decision had been initiated to try and shift HP over to a post-PC era mode, something along the lines of IBM, which saw major success in shifting out of the consumer PC business and over to consulting and enterprise services………………….
Motorola Pro+ 4G For Bell Canada
Motorola has announced their Pro+ 4G for Bell Canada, the enterprise-ready smartphone will make its North American debut on November 7th, bringing the power of a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, and a 3.1-inch 640×480 display and the 4G of its name refers to HSPA+ connectivity with a theoretical limit of 14.4 Mbps. The device measures in at 62 x 119.50 x 11.65mm and weighs 130g and is powered by a 1550mAh battery which offers up to 6.5 hours of talktime and 9.5 days in standby and it’ll sell for $349.95, but there’s no word on whether subsidies will apply for long-term contracts……………………….
Dell Latitude St Business Tablet Now Official
Dell has announced a Windows-based tablet for business customers, focused on security and manageability through integration with existing IT infrastructures, which is the Dell Latitude ST, available from 1 November, is based on an Intel Atom processor and runs Windows 7, rather than Android on which some rival tablet devices are based. The new tablet is powered by a 1.5GHz Atom Z670 processor, features 2GB of DDR2 RAM. 128 GB of SSD should help in speedy boot-ups and load times and the device is compatible with VMware and Citrix virtualization. An upgrade to the tablet-friendly Windows 8 isn’t currently in the cards, though the company says that it will release Windows 8 tablets at some point and Dell didn’t mention a price, but considering HP’s Slate 500 tablet competes in the same (small) market, expect an MSRP below $1000………………..

RIM has released the Porsche Design P’9981 BlackBerry smartphone, which has a legendary motor vehicle maker’s name attached to it and it is pretty much a dressed-up Bold 9900 with a dressed-up price tag to match. The Porsche Design P’9981 runs BlackBerry OS 7 with an exclusive Porsche Design UI and has a sculpted QWERTY keyboard, in addition to a hand-wrapped leather back cover. It boasting a 1.2GHz processor, HD video recording capabilities, 8GB of onboard memory, Liquid Graphics technology, a microSD expansion slot and an inbuilt NFC module…………………..

Sony To Buy Out Ericsson Share
Sony has bought out Ericsson’s stake in Sony Ericsson, giving the Japanese company sole control over the smartphone manufacturer and the deal, worth €1.05bn ($1.47bn) in cash to Ericsson, will see Sony bring the smartphone business in under its networked consumer electronics umbrella. Although Sony Ericsson didn’t make much of an impact in the smartphone market, its latest Android based devices have managed to grab some attention and the announcement comes just a day after Nokia launched its first Windows Phone handsets, so we might be looking at the start of a Scandinavian phone renaissance……………………
AT&T U-Verse TV Wireless Receiver
AT&T has introduced a device that lets its U-verse TV customers move the boob tube to rooms that don’t have a television outlet and AT&T U-verse subscribers won’t have to go through the hassle of having their entire home re-wired with coaxial cable when they sign up for the pay TV service. AT&T U-verse ustomers can order the new wireless receiver, which can be placed anywhere throughout the home or even outside, as long as it’s within Wi-Fi range and TVs hooked up to the wireless receivers will get all the same features that are available through more traditional wired set-top boxes, such as access to on-demand titles and whole-home DVR functionality. AT&T’s new wireless receivers are available for a one-time fee of $49, plus a $7 per month receiver rental fee……………….

Nokia Announces Asha Lineup
Nokia announced a new lineup of mobile phones at its Nokia World 2011 conference and it is calling them Asha and the lineup consists of four phones that will be taking their place between feature phones and smartphones and will be targeted at emerging economies. All four Asha devices are made of polycarbonate and come with a Nokia Browser, which is powered by the cloud and compresses data by up to 90 percent, saving users from racking up excessive charges and the new phones eature the instant-messaging program WhatsApp, which is also largely unknown in the US, but is hugely popular in the developing world………………….

Verizon has officially announced the availability of the Motorola Droid RAZR and according to Verizon, for those interested in getting their hands on the device, they will be able to start pre-ordering it tomorrow and also and the devices will start shipping no later than 10th of November. Toyota introduces Touch Life smartphone mirroring system, your Prius and iPhone can become one, which can mirror the phone’s display on its 7-inch touchscreen for access to navigation, music or social networking services. Nokia owners can connect their Symbian Belle devices by way of MirrorLink, developed by the Car Connectivity Consortium and iPhone & iPod owners will have to install Application Launcher in order to sync up with the infotainment system. Freescale Joins ARM Cortex-M4 And Cortex-A5 cores
Freescale is planning to use the same trick, but you won’t find its asymmetrical CPUs in your next tablet or smartphone, which marries a Cortex M4 to a Cortex A5, isn’t meant to compete with the latest Snapdragon and the two ARM cores are analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, programmable timers, on-chip memory, flexible memory interfaces, high-speed communication interfaces and security.
