We had been told earlier a month ago that a Firefox for Windows 8 metro interface was being planned. Now, the Mozilla team has announced that it has started the development of the said version of Firefox. According to Mozilla, it is a ‘very large project.’ In that case, we may hope to see something very interesting coming from Mozilla’s front hopefully by summer this year.
It would seem that Mobile World Congress 2012 was not only an event to reveal some of the most awe-inspiring gadgets, devices and technologies; it was also an event to socialize. Or that’s what the largest social network did. Facebook is said to have become ‘best friends’ during the Barcelona event and planned a new, better future for the mobile industry. The ‘partnership’, if that’s the right word to term it, would result in more monetise-able models for mobile operators, Facebook promised.

Architects of UK have been trying to make floating pontoon house for a long time. Now, for the first time in the UK, Baca Architects have got the full planning permission to build a residential home on the banks of the River Thames in Buckinghamshire. This will be the first floating pontoon house in the UK. When there will be flood, the house will not go under water, rather it will float on the water and remain safe.
Mozilla Firefox has undergone a lot of changes ever since it was launched. But one thing that has remained more or less the same till this day is the home page of Firefox It still has that slightly boring, dull look that it had right from the start. But the good news is that Mozilla has finally realized that and is planning to revamp the website to make it cooler and look better. Mozilla is planning two major updates for the home page, one being the addition of function bar to version 12, which we can hope to see soon; and the second revamp will include the addition of different apps including chats and top sites.
WordPress 3.3 to focus on improvements to uploader and updates and this would be a hoot, but the webmaster would work something dull, but welcome it if it’s that automatic. Matt Mullenweg says that while there are no concrete plans for WordPress 3.3 just yet and would like to see silent updates that quietly and automatically updates WordPress itself and your plugins…………….

Sumitomo Electric Industries has set up a small-scale production line at its Osaka Works R&D center to produce the battery-boosting material, Aluminum-Celmet and this development is an outgrowth of its previous work on similar nickel and nickel-chromium materials that they branded as Celmet. The resulting Aluminum-Celmet has a whopping 98 percent porosity rate, leaving the Li-ion gate wide-open for a flood of electrical juice and this piece de porous non-resistance has a steep corrosive threshold that could soon help power a line of high-capacity, small form rechargeable batteries…………

Marvell Kinoma’s take on a “new open app platform” targeted at everything from mobile devices to desktops to embedded handhelds. The company is finally showing off a live version of the software in the form of Kinoma Play, an implementation of the platform that runs atop Android 2.2 Froyo. The Marvell also had a massive touchscreen loaded up with a desktop version of the software running in a simulator atop OS X for eager onlookers to fool around with.

Microsoft released an API mapping tool to help those familiar with iOS development code for its Windows Phone 7 platform and the tool does not yet support the APIs that will come with the Mango upgrade, but will be updated during the Summer to include the new material. The Windows Phone 7 marketplace contains over 20,000 applications, and has over 7,000 approved developers and they wants to expand both of those numbers…………..
Apple’s custom-built A5 chip currently powers iPad 2 and is expected to make its way into next-gen iPhone, iPod touch and Apple TV and now A5 chip is coming to MacBook Air with Thunderbolt I/O is being tested in Apple’s labs. Apple working hard to converge the best bits of both into the forthcoming OS X Lion upgrade and may be eying ARM as a possible replacement for Intel-manufacturered x86-architecture chips in its laptop computers, but complications with running legacy applications could mean the move is several years away………

WordPress has updated their dashboard to add several nice features for sites hosted on WordPress.com and redesigned the toolbar and font sizes, refreshed the design and improved the speed of the dashboard. One of the most exciting new features of the dashboard is an upgrade to the full-screen writing mode to eliminate more of the interface for focused writing sessions and features Visual Editor icons designed by Ben Dunkle, who also did the new navigation icons for the dashboard………..
