You must be aware of the feeling when you pay for an app, then start using it and suddenly you realize that you were expecting something different. Its like finding out the reality a little too late since you already paid. However, with the Appstore Test Drive feature, this may change for at least some apps. Android users will be able to ‘test drive’ the apps before they decide to purchase it.

The last time we updated you about the Android IP Trial which is basically a legal tussle between Google and Oracle, it seemed that Oracle hadn’t gained much from the case. It was awarded only statutory damages for the infringement which the court ruled Google did commit. But statutory damages are too tiny a sum to make any difference to Oracle. Naturally, the company wanted to go after a share in Android’s profits.

For long, iOS users have been able to keep track of all their games and leaderboard through a native app, Game Center. The app not only lets them keep tabs on their own games, it also tells them what their friends are playing and who, among them, is scoring the highest. Android, so far, has no such app to consolidate all Android games.

A number of apps store user’s personal data for their use. Most of the times it is authorized by the user and is genuinely required by the app. However, if the app doesn’t properly encrypt the data, it can cause a lot of problems for the user.
