Google has just announced the release of new ‘Download Map Area’ feature for Maps application on Android. Before you going outside, while you still have access to WiFi or data coverage, you can open up any Places page in the world, click “More” to get the Place page menu, and download Google’s maps for a 10-mile radius. Google Maps itself started as a lab. In addition to our desktop Maps Labs, Google Maps for Android has a few tricks you can try out right from your phone. We’d like to introduce you to one new experimental feature, “Download map area,” but also remind you of two other ones we already have: “Scale bar” and “Measure.” Chikai Ohazama, Director of Product Management, Google Maps for mobile has share a detail in their googleblog.blogspot. “SKR” a South Korea company has come up with a new prototype multi-touch system that is powered by Google’s Android as the operating system of choice, delivering 32″ of viewing. Guess you can be more accurate than ever in a game of Angry Birds on any kind of game like this. It will run off a regular Android terminal which is connected via USB to the touch sensors, and HDMI to the display port, it perfectly replicates the android interface and can also display Full HD video.

Samsung has broken record sales with its newly launched flagship smartphone. Samsung Galaxy SII. The company mentioned that they sold almost 3million Galaxy S2 smartphone in just 55 days. The company expects to reach 10m mark soon in different parts of globe and break the record of its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy S. Electronista reported that in every 1.5 sec, Galaxy SII smartphone is sold.

The Skype app received quite a large update that brought an enhanced interface to everyone, but video calling to only a few select devices. Skype 2.0 hotfix enables video chat on Sprint’s Nexus S 4G. While we would sure like to see more devices, it is a start, and at least we know they are working on it behind the scenes still.

Oracle is seeking $2.6 billion in damages from Google as part of its patent infringement lawsuit over Java and in the latest filing in the case between the two California tech giants, Oracle revealed it was seeking $0.9 billion to $1.4 billion upfront from Google for infringing its patents. Oracle is entitled to damages based on a number of grounds, including advertising revenues from Android phones and Android has been used on more than 310 devices and now has the largest share of the smartphone market……….

Taipei City Government was recently alerted to Google’s Android Market return policies, that violate Taiwanese consumer protection laws requiring any product bought over the internet to have at least a 7-day trial period and gave Google a 15-day ultimatum to revise its app return policies to include the mandatory 7-day trial period. While the 15-minute refund window for apps and games purchased on the Android Market is fairly short and Tapei City government fined Google for the privilege of refusing to follow Taiwanese law’, followed swiftly by a T$1m ($35000 approx)……..

Acer Iconia Tab A500 users have to wait for the July 5, or late July to get their official Android 3.1 update and that’s only across Europe and in Japan. The Motorola XOOM and the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer have been enjoying it for a few weeks now. But still there’s no official date for it in the US.

Do you ever think of you are playing game and can share the screen through web! While OnLive plans to bring its game streaming service to the HTC Flyer later this year. The company has decided to release an app fot the android platfrom. OnLive Viewer is already available on iOS, now it turns your HTC Flyer into a display for you to stream live video feeds of other people playing games using the OnLive service.
