A few ago, Dell unveiled its intents of trying its hands at a Project Sputnik pilot program. Now don’t let your imaginations run wild and think that perhaps it has something to do with letting remote astronauts get their daily dose of online social interactions. Rather, it is an excellent project which intends to devise such a notebook which will be able to run open-source software that can aid the developers.

Yesterday, a blurry screenshot of Sony LT29i Hayabusa was revealed shortly after Sony made an official announcement. Today another Sony smartphone details has been leaked out. The handset is branded as Sony ST26i. It is not sure whether the Sony Xperia ST26i handset will ship with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

At last, Nokia admits the purple screen bug Of Lumia 900. However, Nokia did not publish any details about the purple screen bug. Nokia Care US through Twitter has announced that they have identified the screen-hue problem and this problem will be fixed through a software update. The bug suddenly disables automatic brightness and turns the screen down to lower brightness. After receiving complaints from some Lumia 900 users, the company analyzed the problem and accepted it.

The use of 3D effects in sci-fi, fantasy and action movies are common today. These effects are created using specialized softwares and advanced techniques. Recently, two Carnegie Mellon fellows has made their mark on 3D effects creation with some innovative hacks. Carnegie Mellon University’s Studio for Creative Inquiry has created some distinctive 3D video effects by hacking the depth camera of the Kinect gaming console and video from a digital SLR together.

The use of DVDs has indeed been declining over recent years, with content more readily available online and transmitted more often through flash drives. However, there are still a lot of us who would like to pop in a DVD at times and watch a movie. Since the launch of Nokia 808 PureView at Mobile World Congress 2012, it has been the talk of the town. This phone has received multiple awards including Best Mobile Device at Mobile World Congress 2012 and Best Imaging Innovation for 2012 from the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA), even before its commercial launch. Recently Nokia has declared that the Nokia 808 PureView will be available in Russia and India from this month. However, Nokia has not disclosed the exact dates of roll out.

RIM has revealed a Bluetooth audio adapter with remote control operation branded as BlackBerry Music Gateway. By pairing with the Bluetooth, it allows users to stream music from their Blackberry devices to other devices. Users can play music, skip or turn up the tunes with remote control. Even incoming phone calls can be received using the BlackBerry Music Gateway.

CyanogenMod 9 is based on Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC One X is really sitting on top of the Android world at the moment. International users of the HTC One X can get an experience of the omnipresent CyanogenMod custom ROM. Recently CyanogenMod 9,the new version of firmware, has been posted by TripNRaVeR of the TripNDroid Mobile Engineering developer team on the Modaco forums. Although CyanogenMod official site has not released it. The ROM was made using the open-source CyanogenMod 9 files but its major features are working in this initial release
