Autodesk Inventor fusion is a very useful software that is used to create 3D Mechanical designs. It is often beneficial for professionals as well as students affiliated with many different engineering fields. Autodesk showcased a Mac version of the software at Macworld 2012. Until now, Autodesk Inventor fusion was available with Windows. Now that Autodesk has demonstrated a Mac version of it, the software will also be available on Mac for the first time.

Windows 8 is the most significant operating system update by Microsoft ever since Windows 3.0. It is about to released on Intel devices pretty soon. However, this is the first ever Windows Operating System that will also run on AMD and ARM chips. A few days ago at CES 2012, ARM devices were on display running Windows 8.0. However, back then we were told that Windows 8 wasn’t stable on ARM machines yet. Now, a number of sources are claiming that Windows 8 is now stable on ARM devices and that this may warrant an earlier-than-expected release of ARM devices with Windows 8.

HTC has been rolling out some of the finest smartphones. However, the company has still been struggling due to the fierce competition put forth by Samsung and Apple both of which seems to be leading from the front. HTC does seem to plan for a comeback for the Sense 4.0 device which it plans to unleash soon. However, you won’t have to wait till it’s launch to know the details of the device. Huawei attracted the attention of many when it unveiled the sleekest smartphone in US at CES 2012. The smartphone is ultra-thin and ultra-fast and tools Android 4.0. Have you ever imagined a phone that would transform physically the way you’d want it to? Not just a holograph but an actual physical change in the design. This is what is behind the concept of a 3D floating phone. A number of designers contributed to this concept and shaped it up. These include Messizon Li, Yang Fan, Linghan Liu, Li Ke, Pengcheng An, Yunlong Zhu & Zhangxia Ruan. And well, Apple has lived up to the expectations. During the event, Apple announced the release of iBooks Author for Mac. Apple has a knack of churning out Mac OS builds pretty quickly, which is one of the best things about it’s OS. The last build released by Apple of OS X Lion 10.7.3 was in the second last week of December. That build was numbered 11D36. Now Apple has made another build available for developer through seeding. System Center 2012 is Microsoft’s cloud-management suite. Microsoft currently offers two types of cloud management: private, in which it manages the cloud at the customers’ place; and public, in which the cloud is managed at Microsoft’s datacenters. Although earlier Microsoft sold the Cloud-management suite on the point-basis, so that the customer could choose one or more of the eight points of the suits. Microsoft is now set to sell the entire suite as a single bundle.

For all the Windows users, the good news are that Windows 8 is coming with a lot of new features. We recently wrote about how Storage Spaces, a really useful feature, is part of Windows 8. To complement and support Windows 8, Microsoft has also built a ‘designed-from-the-ground-up’ file system which is called ReFS. Although Nokia is concentrating on Windows Phone as of late and has somewhat lost focus on it’s Symbian OS devices, the Nokia Store still continues with a huge number of daily downloads. According to Nokia, currently, the store is witnessing nearly 11 million downloads every single day!! However, the country with most downloads is India with other toppers including Russia, Turkey, Brazil and others. Europe or US do not appear in the top of the lsit which shows that Nokia’s Symbian OS no longer holds any interest for users in these regions.

Adobe caused quite an uproar a while ago when it said that all customers who use CS3, CS4 or older version of Creative Suite, will not be eligible for any upgrade offers for CS6 upgrade and that they will first have to upgrade to CS 5 or CS 5.5 to be eligible for upgrade offer. This angered a lot of users as it seems very unfair. In a recent statement, Adobe has announced that those users who are currently using CS3 or CS4 will be able to upgrade to CS6 through special upgrade offer.

Vimeo, the popular website allowing easy video sharing announced aggressive expansion strategy with new apps designed for the three major mobile operating systems, Android, iOS, and Windows Phone. The new apps are designed to suit each platform and to enhance user’s experience according to each environment. If someone expects Vimeo to blindly take the iOS app and port it to Android and Windows Phone, that someone would be disappointed, as Vimeo redesigned its new app feature for feature.
