HTC had been kind enough to its users when it announced the release of its bootloader unlock tool. The tool, as HTC later announced, unlocked some 45 HTC devices. However, the bad news that HTC has now sugar-coated and stated is that the bootloader unlock tool won’t be able to unlock any of HTC One X devices.
The mobile industry has been rapidly expanding over time. However, at the same time, many notable industry players such as RIM, LG and others have gone down and are not performing good at all. The vital question, then, is that where is all the profit from the expansion of handset market going? A report by Asymco not furnished the answer : to Apple and Samsung.
China has increasingly been an important part of the tech world. Specifically, given the huge market that China is, it has immense potential for tech companies to market and sell their products. This is now manifest in the fact that in terms of total smartphone shipments, China has surpassed US to secure the top spot. And it has accomplished this with the help of huge sales that iPhone 4S is triggering.
Samsung has launched the new Galaxy S III with a lot of new features. Although the device basically runs an Android 4.0, Samsung has integrated its own skin atop the OS very well. It is touting the skin over Android as ‘TouchWiz Nature UX’ which comes with some pretty mind-blowing features. What is even more significant is the sheer amount of functionality that Samsung is offering in this new device.
A lot of buzz has been surrounding the launch of Samsung’s flagship device, Galaxy S III. I must say a lot of us must’ve been surprised at a number of things, including the colors in which S III is available. Nonetheless, with this device, Samsung has taken a huge leap forward, introducing a whole plethora of really cool and unique new features, some of which are quite awe-inspiring.
Just hours after the grand launch of Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone, the wave of anticipation seems to die off. In the Google+ trending topics it is seen in a declining trend, while iPhone is seen in an uprising trend. Twitter trend board also doesn’t show #GALAXYSIII at all. Does it mean that people are simply not impressed with ‘The Next Galaxy’? Or, some people just didn’t notice that the phone was launched officially yesterday? Let’s find out.
The anticipation for the upcoming Galaxy release has grown almost feverish. The world’s eyes are set at Samsung to see what wonder it is going to unveil with the flagship Galaxy S III device. So far, we have told of some really impressive specs of the device. But today’s launch event will put an end to these rumors.
One of the true shape-shifting gadgets, Asus Padfone, hasn’t yet hit the shelves. Needless to say, a lot of users are eager to at least give it a try but the not-so-good news are that Asus has now announced that due to a shortage of Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chips, the launch of the device in a number of markets will be delayed.
Samsung has long been competing Apple to grab hold of the top share of the smartphone market. Samsung already was able to beat Nokia to become the largest handset vendor globally this quarter. And now, although Apple has shown impressive growth, Samsung has improved lot more and is finally able to grab the top spot in the smartphone market in terms of market share.
Huawei is conventionally known for producing low-budget, low-end smartphone devices which are primarily intended for the developing markets. However, in recent times, the company has been trying to break into the smartphone market in developed regions. For this purpose, it is trying to add high-end specs to its smartphones.
Windows Phone has a beautiful interface, thanks to Microsoft which has a knack of producing user-friendly interfaces. However, so far, no one has been so open and frank about the beauty of Windows Phone, and no one more convinced of it too, than Apple’s cofounder Steve Wozniak who has expressed this in a recent interview.
Nokia has, for long, enjoyed the position of being the world’s largest handset vendor, even when its influence has gradually eroded in the West. However, Samsung has been making strides to bridge the gap and take the crown and though in terms of profitability, Apple still beats Samsung by a huge margin, Samsung was able to sell more mobile sets in the last quarter than any other company in the world, even Nokia.
The world had been eagerly anticipating what the Korean electronics maker was about to unveil ever since it launched the countdown to ‘the next Galaxy.’ As soon as the countdown culminated, Samsung has posted a teaser for the upcoming Galaxy device and has also invited the users to register to catch the event live from London.
Panasonic has launched a smartphone branded as Eluga P-04D with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This is the European version of previously released japan-centric P-04D and 102P phones. Along with other features the waterproof design is what makes it a promising one.
For all the Android users who have been eagerly anticipating the launch of Samsung’s flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S III, the good news are that the company may be announcing something to that end in 14 hours from now. While we are not sure it would be about Galaxy S III, what we do know is that it is something to do with the Galaxy lineup. This is because Samsung has officially launched a countdown to ‘The Next Galaxy.’
