Sony has just unveiled its Android 3.0 tablet plans, revealing a pair of slates that it reckons can take on the might of the Apple iPad. Both the tablets, S1 and S2, are running on Google’s Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS and support 3G/4G.

Toshiba has been teasing its very first Honeycomb tablet under the name “Regza AT300.” Its specs list looks very much like the one of the Motorola Xoom, so the $800 slate will have serious competition. The slate will be shipping in June, priced around $730, at least in Japan, while the US will get it in the first half of 2011.

Samsung, one of the world’s biggest chip manufacturers and a significant Apple supplier, will be pushing out a new, likely ARM-based, 2GHz dual-core processor in the near future. Rumours are circulating that the iPad 3 could come kitted kitted out with the next-generation CPU, with noises emanating from within the industry suggesting that Apple have been spurred on to include the tech by the news that Samsung is planning to bring 2GHz dual-core processors to devices by next year.

Remember late last month when i’ve posted Real Racing 2 HD for iPad 2 With 1080p[Video]. In case you missed it, the gist of it is that connecting an iPad 2 running Real Racing 2 HD to your television using the Apple HDMI dongle will let you display the game on your HD TV in full 1080p. The iPad then acts as the controller for playing the game on the TV while simultaneously displaying a track map and other information pertaining to your race. The game runs full screen without any borders and at a solid 30 frames per second.
