Add Eye-Movement Navigation To Your Windows 8 Machines With Tobii REX

Tobii has earned quite a repute in the tech arena for creating some of the best eye-tracking technologies. The company has formerly showcased hardware which can enable eye-tracking on Windows 8 laptops; now, with Tobii REX, it has brought eye-tracking tech to all kind of Windows 8 PCs.

Tobii REX

The best thing about Tobii REX is its size. It is nearly the same size as a pen and can fix up nicely with any Windows 8 machine. The device has to be attached to the base of the monitor linked to the PC so that the cameras embedded within can get a good look at your eyes.

Tobii REX can perform a whole lot of functions and you can tweak the settings to couple up your keyboard and mouse functionality with the device. For instance, by coupling your mouse with REX, you can start clicking with the blink of your eyes.

For now, Tobii has no plans of going commercial with the device. The company has announced, though, that before the year 2013 expires, it intends to roll out 5,000 of these devices to the consumers.

Meanwhile, such developers who are eager to lay their hands on Tobii REX and can’t wait any longer can pay up $995 and get their hands on a special edition of it.
