Google has a long standing tradition of naming updated versions of their Android operating systems after desserts and he Ice Cream Sandwich update has been pushed back to Jelly Bean. Jelly Bean being one of the few dessert names to start with a J, there is a very good chance it could be the next name and Ice Cream Sandwich is said to be a big update in itself with it being a common platform for both Android smartphones and tablets……………
This is my next is reporting that the next version of Android after Ice Cream Sandwich will be called Jelly Bean and it’s supposed to pack game-changing stuff that was originally supposed to be on Ice Cream Sandwich but didn’t quite make it in time, Jelly Bean maintaining Google’s tradition of naming Android versions after sweets in alphabetical order, a custom that has been maintained ever since Android’s introduction way back in 2008. As expected at this stage, not much information is yet known about what Jelly Bean will include, although the source assures skeptics that it will be Game-Changing Stuff, although that could mean anything: hopefully revolutionary features, not just another new layout which Google laid out for the Android Market recently. The version number for Jelly Bean hasn’t yet been decided and neither has the version for Ice Cream Sandwich, where there still debate inside Google over whether to bump the version up to 4.0 or just keep it within the 3.x range. Until that discussion has been settled.
