Best Buy, the well-known online retailer, is selling an HDMI cable for $1000. Why such exorbitant price? Not for any particularly valid reason.

I am not sure, if consumers should laugh or cry when they see the Best Buy page offering $1000 HDMI cable. When you can get a similar cable for $10 to $20, what good would a $1000 HDMI cable call upon? The cable literally turns your life upside down (and your wallet too) and probably makes a display more real than reality itself.

$1000 HDMI Cable

It is rather interesting to note that Best Buy is not presenting this as some kind of concept but actually hopes to sell this stuff. To give our readers an idea, you can either go buy an awesome laptop as well as an excellent smartphone and perhaps a few additional things or combine the price of all that and you can buy this HDMI cable.

What is so extra-ordinary about this cable? The most extra-ordinary feature of this HDMI cable is that it is pricey without being extra-ordinary at all. I mean it can bump the display and sound quality a tad bit high, but surely no one wants to get a $1000 visual treat that only has some additional sweetness.

Besides, the cable is a puny two feet! Imagine getting a 65″ cable for a few hundreds dollars more. You could scale the length of your house’s walls with that kind of a cable. But perhaps, Best Buy believes in keeping it short and awesome, hence the two-footer. Also, don’t ever think about the fact that you can have a few kilograms of common HDMI cables in the same price. That doesn’t matter.

What matters is that this HDMI cable can give you one little, tiny advantage – that of a slightly better display and sound quality. And of course Best Buy’s offer is absolutely justified in demanding such extortionist prices for such little happiness.
