CES 2012: Android Powered Camera From Polaroid

Polaroid managed to get a lot of attention form the visitors and journalists present at this year’s edition of Consumer Electronics Show. The company announced good news for photo snapping enthusiasts a sleek smart camera with support for Wi-Fi, powered by Android.

Polaroid SC1630 has capabilities beyond the expectations of the average users. Advertised as a smart camera, the new Polaroid product offers access to Android platform, which allows users access and download apps from Android Market, not only photography specific apps but also games and other entertainment apps, not to mention all the productivity tools that become now available on a camera.

In addition to support for Android, Polaroid SC1630 is also a quite intriguing digital camera, capable of snapping the perfect picture with speed and ease and also capable of sharing them on the user’s favorite social media. The camera has a 16 MP CCD sensor and a 3X optical zoom. For photographers interested in making the best out of automatic settings, there are 18 scene modes to choose from. In addition, features like geo tagging, face detection and smile detection or options enabling easy photo management make the new Polaroid camera a treat.
