The E-PL1 has a large-size image sensor similar to Olympus E-30 and E-620 DSLR models. You will find the E-PL1 12.3-megapixel Live MOS image sensor is “eight times larger than the average point-and-shoot camera sensor.”

This E-PL1 camera has 19 Scene-Select modes. The Intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode automatically identify shooting objects and adjusts settings for the best snap based on the situation. Face detection technology of E-PL1 recognizes up to eight faces at once within the focus area, and automatically focuses and optimizes exposure for sharp portraits. The iEnhance feature automatically works with iAuto to enrich color in any subject and can be used in any mode.

The E-PL1 supports a variety of lenses to maximize its imaging functionality. Users are allowed to add everything from an extreme wide-angle fish-eye lens to a super-telephoto lens that will change the way one photograph.

There is 2.7-inch HyperCrystal LCD for clear viewing experience when shooting still images or videos which provides a wide viewing angle of 176 degrees.
