Apple Maps Mix Up Locations, Create Imaginary Airport

Ever since Apple released iOS 6 with its own Maps, Apple users have been seething with anger. The reason is simply because Apple has ditched Google Maps, and its own Maps are no good in comparison. And now, iOS users are facing a lot of trouble using it.

Apple Maps

It is being reported by numerous users that the new Maps app is showing wrong locations. It has shifted streets from one city to another and even London has been reported to have gone to Ontario, Canada, as per the Maps.

And that’s just the tip of an iceberg. When displaying a 35-acre greenfield place in Dublin, it is being shown by the Maps as an airport. In reality, there is no hint of any airport at the place. Rather, the place has cafe, farms and gardens.

According to the justice minister of Dublin, Alan Shatter, “Clearly the designation is not only wrong but is dangerously misleading in that it could result in a pilot, unfamiliar with the area, in an emergency situation and without other available information, attempting a landing.”

Shatter has also asked Apple to amend this mistake immediately. Similar mistakes are being made on other parts of the Maps. Paddington railway station has been wiped off the face of Earth, or at least in these maps. Other mistakes include wrong names of buildings and structures.

This may as well turn into a nightmare for Apple soon, if the company doesn’t take sufficient measures to resolve this. The world was expecting Maps to be of top-quality since Apple had introduced its own, replacing Google Maps. But so far, iOS users are disappointed.
