Google Launches Walking Directions In Google Maps For Africa

In 2010, Google added the driving direction feature in Google Maps for some African countries. Recently, the search giant has launched the walking direction feature on its Google Maps to over 44 African countries in the continent. Users can easily find their directions by using walking directions features. For getting directions, users have to click “Get directions” and input a starting and ending location. Users can also enter a direction in the search field then click “Directions” in a window or simply right click on the map to get directions to a specific location.

Google said that the walking direction feature is currently in beta. It must be used with caution, as some directions and routes may be missing. However, walking directions are editable. If you think that the directions are amiss then you can correct it by using Google’s community mapping tool called Google Map Maker that allows a user to add and update geographic information for millions of users to see in Google Maps and Google Earth.
