Apple has released the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Supplemental Update via their Software Update Utility and website for direct download and this update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8. The Snow Leopard update contains fixes for several small issues, including transferring information, settings and applications from your Snow Leopard machine to a Mac running Lion. You’ll need to be using the latest version of Snow Leopard (10.6.8) to run this update or you can upgrade using Update Combo v1.1…………..

Apple released a supplemental update to OS X 10.6.8, which fixes some of the outstanding issues that cropped up after the original 10.6.8 update. These include printers not working properly and going into a paused state when printing, and system audio not working properly when an HDMI or optical audio output is being used. In addition, the update includes the latest version of Apple’s Migration Assistant software to ensure a smooth transition from a Snow Leopard Mac to a newly purchased one running Lion. The supplemental update is about 10MB in size and should be available via Software Update, but can also be downloaded from the Apple Support Downloads site as a standalone installer. The update requires you to have already installed OS X 10.6.8, and will require a restart after being applied. If you have not yet installed the 10.6.8 update, then you will not need to install this update, as Apple has incorporated it into version 1.1 of the regular Combo and Delta OS X updaters. You will find the available downloads below:
