MeeGo For Tablets Gets A New Look

MeeGo OS for tablets has been reshaped again and updated MeeGo interface gets shown off on Atom Z670-based reference table. The UI has been given some serious tweaks, losing its vertical column design with widgets that instead mimic the likes of iOS and Android 3.0 Honeycomb……….

MeeGo is a Linux based operating system for awhile you should be used to the constant changes taking place at the hands of Intel and there partners. The atest version of the operating system has been put on display at the on-going Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2011 in Beijing, China. The demo tablet is running on the newly unveiled Intel Oak Trail platform with the Z670 processor at center. The new UI takes a bit from Android 3.0 UI, but also shows some unique touches not seen on other tablet operating systems. There is no special name or release date at this time for the version of MeeGo just shown, but Intel has announced there will be a special ‘MeeGo Day’ on April 14th. At the event this new version of MeeGo is expected to take center stage on multiple devices like tablets. We hope that some tablets that will actually end up on the market for sale will be shown off at the event. Currently the only real MeeGo option is the WeTab and it offers a very different UI experience .
