DVDO announces the release of a new gadget capable to eliminate the unsightly, dangling wires between the wall mounted TVs and the content source. DVDO Air WirelessHD sends the high definition signal from the cable/satellite box, Blu- ray, DVD, AVR or other element of the home entertainment equipment to the HD TV.

The system transfers full, uncompressed 1080p HD and 7.1 Surround Sound, thanks to the •60-GHz wireless technology. The supported formats are 2D and 3D , as well. “It looks and sounds exactly the same as it would with a high performance HDMI cable, except there’s no cable. There’s just AIR,” explains the product official page.

For the users who are not so handy and don’t like to call an expert to install hidden cables in the walls, the new gadget is really good news. The DVDO Air WirelessHD installation is incredible easy. The wireless receiver from DVDO mounts on the TV with the help of the specially designed clip or on the wall, while a Air Wireless connector sends the signal from a HDMI source (Blu-ray, cable or satellite box, notebook PC, Audio/Video receiver, DVR).

The 60-GHz technology promises absolutely no interference from other wireless devices, such as mobile phones, cordless phones and WiFi networks. The gadget is available for preorders for the price of $400 on the official website. The company announces that DVDO Air will be available starting on March 6th.
