Since 1996, the Interactive Achievement Awards have recognized outstanding games, individuals and development teams that have contributed to the advancement of the multi-billion dollar worldwide entertainment software industry. More than 160 titles were played and evaluated by members of the Academy’s Peer Panels. The panels are comprised of the game industry’s most experienced and talented men and women. Each panel is responsible for evaluating one award category. Interactive Achievement Award recipients are determined by a vote of qualified Academy and IGDA members. Award voting is confidential, conducted online and supervised and certified by VoteNet Solutions, Inc. The integrity of the system, coupled with a broad-based voting population of AIAS members, makes the Interactive Achievement Awards the most credible, respected and recognized awards for interactive entertainment software.

Recent Tech News

Mobile computing devices are increasingly replacing the regular PCs. While PCs still remain the mainstream mode of computing, the mobile platform has experienced an explosive growth in the recent years. And at the head of this growth is Apple, holding the largest market share in both the mobile PC and tablet market.

In April 2012, Nokia proudly announced that Lumia 610 would be able to run the Windows Phone version of Skype. Later on, Skype announced that it won’t support Skype for Windows Phone on devices with 256MB RAM. As Lumia 610 got only 256MB of RAM inside it, the future of Skype support in the handset was in jeopardy. According to reports, Nokia has officially pulled out Skype for Windows from Lumia 610 handsets because of unsatisfactory user experience.

Facebook and Google haven’t been on particularly good terms. The rather unpleasant relationship between the two extends well back into the past and the main reason is that Facebook has been refusing to allow Google to use its user data. While Facebook officially says that it won’t share the data because of privacy reasons of the users, Larry Page says that is false.

Apple’s success in the smartphone and tablet market has brought it an unprecedented success. iPad and iPhone are flying right of the shelves in millions and this has hugely increased the semiconductor consumption of Apple, making it the largest chip buyer in the whole world. Although Samsung comes second in the list, it is still far off in terms of buying volume, when compared to Apple.
