Billabong Special Edition For Xperia Active, Action-Sports Enthusiasts’ Dream Come True

Does not every smartphone user wish they had more smartphones for more different reasons, some of their activities and some of their pastime? There is at least one now for the surfers, snowboarders, skaters and other action-sports enthusiasts. This brilliant idea of allowing people the fun of having a separately dedicated smartphone for such action sports came of course from Sony, which has partnered with action sportswear Billabong to launch a special edition of the Xperia Active, according to a report by CNET. It is called as the Billabong Edition and features special back cover.

Not only that but when you get preloaded exclusive screensavers, videos, and a Billabong Live app, you cannot ask for more. Through Billabong app you can get live streaming, as well photos, and news about the company’s surf contests. Is not it a dream come true for all the surfers. Alongside all this fun comes a copy of the Billabong Surf Trip game all for free. As with the Xperia Active, the Billabong Edition also has protection against dust and water as it is dust-proof and water-resistant design with a 3-inch, 320×480-pixel touch screen that will work no matter what now.

So get your dusty and wet fingers onto it and start playing. There are other fitness goodies like built-in ANT+ wireless technology that will connect to a compatible heart-rate monitor and has an armband too, just in case of emergencies. But there is no need to expect extreme power, as the Xperia Active chips run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has a 1GHz processor and a 5-megapixel camera. The Xperia Active Billabong Edition is out in the market. The prices are not yet confirmed.

Mobile computing devices are increasingly replacing the regular PCs. While PCs still remain the mainstream mode of computing, the mobile platform has experienced an explosive growth in the recent years. And at the head of this growth is Apple, holding the largest market share in both the mobile PC and tablet market.

In April 2012, Nokia proudly announced that Lumia 610 would be able to run the Windows Phone version of Skype. Later on, Skype announced that it won’t support Skype for Windows Phone on devices with 256MB RAM. As Lumia 610 got only 256MB of RAM inside it, the future of Skype support in the handset was in jeopardy. According to reports, Nokia has officially pulled out Skype for Windows from Lumia 610 handsets because of unsatisfactory user experience.

Facebook and Google haven’t been on particularly good terms. The rather unpleasant relationship between the two extends well back into the past and the main reason is that Facebook has been refusing to allow Google to use its user data. While Facebook officially says that it won’t share the data because of privacy reasons of the users, Larry Page says that is false.

Apple’s success in the smartphone and tablet market has brought it an unprecedented success. iPad and iPhone are flying right of the shelves in millions and this has hugely increased the semiconductor consumption of Apple, making it the largest chip buyer in the whole world. Although Samsung comes second in the list, it is still far off in terms of buying volume, when compared to Apple.
