Next-Gen Xbox Won’t Work Without Internet Connection

Xbox 360 users have been fervently waiting for Microsoft to release a successor to its current-generation game console. It is expected that the software giant will release the next-generation Xbox, branded as Xbox 720, during the later part of this year. An inside source now claims that the upcoming Xbox won’t work without an internet connection.

Although we have been told that Microsoft has been working on its next-gen game console for some time now, no official details of the gadget have leaked so far. However, many have speculated as to what kind of specifications the console will pack and what new features Microsoft will offer through it.

A source who claims to be close to Microsoft’s Xbox-related developments, has now said that the new game console will be packing an AMD eight-core x64 1.6GHz CPU. Moreover, the nifty gadget will also include a D3D11.x 800 MHz graphics chip as well as 8GB of DDR3 RAM.

If these specifications turn out to be true, we can be rest assured that Microsoft’s new console will be the best of both beauty and brains. With an eight-core AMD processor, the next-generation Xbox will very likely become a quick favorite among the gamers. However, much of it depends on whether the claims by this ‘inside source’ prove to be true.

This source has also divulged that the new Xbox won’t work without an internet connection. That is a tad bit disappointing although we are told that the console will get its games via 50GB Blu-ray discs. Still, playing games on an Xbox without bothering to connect to the internet has a certain charm and freedom of its own – we may not have that anymore in the new console.
