Sony Confirms, PS4 Is Coming With Voice And Facial Recognition Support Via Camera

Sony announced its upcoming gaming console PlayStation 4 on February 20. After the launch, Sony received huge pre-orders for the PlayStation 4. However, while avid PlayStation gamers have long been waiting for PlayStation 4 (PS4), lately Sony has officially confirmed that PlayStation 4 will support voice commands and facial recognition via optional Eye camera peripheral.

PS4, coming with voice command and facial recognition system will let users to control the console by speaking. But this will be possible at then when the optional Eye camera is connected. That means, apart from having PS4, gamers will have to buy the Eye camera in order to control the console using their own voice or face.

According to gaming website Polygon, a spokesperson of Sony said: “Sony Computer Entertainment can confirm that PlayStation Camera allows for voice recognition and we will look forward to sharing more details in the lead up to the launch of PlayStation 4 on November 29.”

Few days back, a video of a PS4 presentation at the GameStop Expo in Las Vegas was uploaded to YouTube. That video presented about this voice command function as it showed, “From navigational voice commands to facial recognition, the PlayStation Camera adds incredible innovation to your gaming.” The video shows manager of Sony saying “New stereoscopic lens can track your body movement in games and even recognize your face for easier system navigation.”

However, PlayStation 4 will come with powerful graphics and speed, intelligent personalization, deeply integrated social capabilities and innovative second-screen. You can pre-order PlayStation 4 either from Sony or else from Amazon.
