Deals Between Google and Apple for iPhone Search Has Extended

Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt has confirmed that the good relationship between google and the apple will remain. In a recent deal that extends the previous agreement allow Apple to use Google as the default search on iPhones and other iOS devices.

“Apple is a company we both partner and compete with,” Schmidt said. “We do a search deal with them, recently extended, and we’re doing all sorts of things in maps and things like that.”

He continued: “So the sum of all this is that two large corporations, both of which are important, both of which I care a lot about, will [remain] pretty close. But Android was around earlier than iPhone.”

Earlier in the year Apple made a deal with Microsoft to bring search engine Bing to the iPhone, which was implemented into iOS 4. Initially some thought the deal would make Bing the default search engine on iOS devices, however that never came to fruition.
