Limera1n for Mac OSX has been released by iPhone hackers GeoHot & Wizdaz to jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G on iOS 4.1 and iPad on iOS 3.2.2. The same Limera1n tool for Windows was released on 10th October before the Chronic Dev Team’s GreenPois0n jailbreak tool. Anyways Limera1n and GreenPois0n works same, but Limera1n has now the advantage over GreenPois0n for Mac OSX support.

Steps to Jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS iOS 4.1 with Limera1n:
- Download Limera1n
- Execute the downloaded Limera1n.exe and hit the make it ra1n button
- Now connect your iPhone 4 / iPhone 3GS
- Hold down the Home + Power buttons.
- Release the Power button and keep holding the Home button.
- Then Limera1n logo will appear on your iPhone screen.
- The follow message will appear when Limera1n is done with the jailbreak process
- Open the Limera1n app from your iPhone home screen and install Cydia from there. Once Cydia is installed, Reboot your iPhone and you’re Done!
Steps to Jailbreak iPod Touch 4G / 3G iOS 4.1 with Limera1n :
- Download Limera1n
Download iOS 4.1 - Execute the downloaded Limera1n.exe and hit the make it ra1n button
- Now connect your iPhone 4 / iPhone 3GS
- Your device will go into Recovery Mode
- Hold down the Home + Power buttons.
- Release the Power button and keep holding the Home button
- You iPhone 4/3GS will now be in DFU Mode.
- Then Limera1n logo will appear on your iPhone screen.
- Open the Limera1n app from your iPhone home screen and install Cydia from there. Once Cydia is installed, Reboot your iPhone.
