iOS 4.3.2 Making Apps Crash

After the release of iOS 4.3.2 people are reporting the new iOS 4.3.2 is making their third party apps crash. Geekworld first noticed that in four threads on the new Apple Support Community forum. iOS 4.3.2 was released to fix a few issues such as battery life and 3G connectivity issues but it looks like it may have caused a problem on its own.

The issue is really a strange one as native apps, the ones that come pre-installed on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad such as Phone, Contacts, App Store, work fine. It’s the apps that you download from the App Store that are crashing for reasons only known to Apple.

This issue has been reported in several threads, four to be exact (1,2,3,4), which means Apple should start working on the iOS 4.3.3 update.

So the purpose of the forum is to learn as well as report your issues, maybe Apple will have iOS 4.3.3 to push out sooner than later.

Thanks

Exactly as you described. All 3rd party apps that I’ve downloaded crash instantly upon opening! Completely unacceptable, please do something apple.

Think I might have found a solution! Download an new app from the app store, any free app will do and install it.

Once installed all your 3rd party apps should be working again!

I think this must pull in some script to enable older 3rd party apps to work on the new operating software.

I know it sounds like rubbish and is a bit of a dirty solution but it’s working!

I have 3GS 32gb Vodafone AU soft unlocked upgraded to 4.3.2 and my iPod apps run, but immediately after installing mobile 17’s app maker via iTunes sync my iPod has failed.

Do I have to download an app OTA to fix?

My Contact app has been crashing all day. The worst wiped the app clean. Luckily I retrieved most items via iTunes when I synced. I thought it was due to memory issues as I rarely power down my iPad. But, even after updating to 4.3.3 today, and powering down, it is still crashing. Any ideas? (I’m hand entering a bunch from my phone that blew apart with thenlast Android/Google update… Another tech dilemma for another day…)

    Thanks
