iPhone 5 Coming With 19 Pin Dock Connector

Back in February this year, there were rumors that suggested that Apple could be making the dock connector of their next generation iPhone (talking about iPhone 5) smaller than the current one (iPhone 4S). According to two different anonymous sources who spoke with Reuters, iPhone 5 is expected to be announced in September or October and the device will feature a 19-pin connector.

iPhone 5 mock up

Apple’s current mobile devices, including the iPhone and iPad, have 30 pin port. But the upcoming iPhone 5 will have 19 pin dock connector. Report says that, Apple plans to release an adapter for iPhone 5 that will allow users to connect accessories using the old 30 pin dock connector to the device’s new 19 pin connector. At present, the headphone jack in iPhone is situated at the top. But in iPhone 5, it’ll be located at the bottom.

Earlier, we have heard that iPhone 5 will have thinner screen compared to current ones. iPhone 5 is also expected to have a quad-core processor. Some are also speculating that the new iPhone has already gone into production.

In the stream of iPhone 5 rumors, is it another rumor? Well, every doubt will be cleared as soon as Apple officially talks about this. Stay tuned.
