Prototype of Nokia Kinetic is out

You already have heard about it. A few days ago conceptual design was out. Now the prototype is also released, though you can not turn it on. It’s just to illustrate how the phone will stand up from the lying position. Those who have just reading about Nokia Kinetic for the first time might be wondering what the hell is this!!! Yes it’s one hell of a kind handset that you want to have. This project is still in progress. Never heard any release date yet.

Nokia Kinetic concept now a prototype

The phone will actually stand up from a lying position whenever there is an incoming call or text message. Just in case you were wondering how was it ever going to stand up without the help of pixie dust, it will rely on an electromagnet located in the phone’s base.

Nokia Kinetic Concept Phone Stands Up To Notify You Of Calls

While it might freak you out if you saw your mobile phone suddenly rise to a standing position if it was just sleeping on your table a few seconds ago, but that’s just the kind of thing that this designer thinks will get your attention. If the vibrating notifications and ringtones didn’t do it for you, this Nokia Kinetic concept design will use an electromagnet at the rather thick base of this device to shift the balance of the device so that it gradually rises or lowers itself. When a call comes in or a text message is received, the phone will gradually stand up, letting you know what it wants your attention, and if you don’t want to answer the call, just tap it to reject the call.
