Samsung Galaxy S III Surpassed iPhone 4S Sales In August

What are the hottest smartphone right now in the market? Undoubtedly, iPhone 4S (yes, it’s still hot, because iPhone 5 isn’t available yet) and Galaxy S III. Between these two, iPhone 4S was launched in October 2011 and Samsung Galaxy S III was launched on May 2012. Since the launch of iPhone 4S, the device has been on top in selling in U.S. each month. But recent report says, Samsung Galaxy S III was sold more in August 2012 in the U.S. than iPhone 4S. That is, Samsung Galaxy S III was the top-selling smartphone in the U.S. in August.

The iPhone 4S was initially launched in partnership with AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint Nextel last year in October. Since then, it has been the top-selling smartphone in the U.S. each month. On the other side, Samsung Galaxy S III was launched on May 2012. It became so popular that Samsung sold 10 million Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone in just 2 month.

Recently analyst firm Canaccord Genuity has revealed that in August 2012 Samsung Galaxy S III was the top-selling smartphone in the U.S.

4 Months Sales Report Of Smartphones

T. Michael Walkley, an analyst of Canaccord Genuity firm, said, “We believe this is the first month since the iPhone 4S launched in October 2011 that it was not the top-selling smartphone in the U.S. market.”

The sales of iPhone 4S have decreased in recent month in anticipation of iPhone 5.
