Sony Finally Announced Xperia ZR

We heard a rumor that Sony was making an unannounced water resistant smartphone called Xperia ZR (codename Dogo). Actually, the rumor is not fake. Lately, Sony has announced that rumored Xperia ZR officially.

The Sony Xperia ZR runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). This smartphone packs a 4.55-inch TFT display providing a resolution of 1280 x 720 with a pixel density of 323PPI, a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and an Adreno 320 GPU. Besides, the phone features a 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card, a 13-megapixel Exmor RS sensor equipped rear camera featuring 16x digital zoom with auto-focus and an unspecified VGA front facing camera. The phone also offers NFC functionality and is LTE 4G capable.

The Sony Xperia ZR is powered by a 2,300mAh battery. The phone can be safely be submersed in 1.5 meters (5 feet) of water for up to 30 minutes. The Xperia ZR will launch in various global markets from Q2 2013. Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing.
