Hanvon Announced HPad A116 Android tablet

Hanvon has introduced a new tablet, the HPad A116 at ces 2011.The Hanvon HPad A116 features a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive touch TFT display, powered by a 1GHz ARM Cotex A8 processor, and Android 2.2 or 2.3.

The tablet comes with a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front camera for video chat. Wireless connectivity is through 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.1 and optional 3G. A 3.7V Li-Polymer 3300mAh battery is good for 6 hours of video playback and 8 hours when reading. At 0.42-inch thick, the A116 is slim and at the same time appears rugged thanks to a steel back panel and an aluminum-magnesium alloy frame around the edges.

It’s interesting to note that Hanvon does not mention the Android Market, instead you get access to thousands of Android apps customized for Hanvon at the Hanvon apps market. You can also access more than 160,000 books and magazines on Hanvon on-line bookstore. The I/O interface includes a mini-USB, mini-HDMI, and 3.5mm ear jack.

Hanvon has also launched a related model called the HPad A112, which has a slower 720MHz ARM11 processor, 256MB or 512MB of RAM, and a 7 inch, 800 x 600 pixel display.

It is a great phone for frequent flyers who needs stay connected where ever they go. This phone is slim, lightweight design and can be carried easily. Other features include TXT/Email, Stereo Bluetooth support, 2MP camera and a large 2.4-inch screen.

Dell’s consumer products division is not doing well lately, because of competition from cheap entry-level products in emerging markets by other companies. The company’s earnings reduced by a factor of three. Its shares tumbled in extended trade. Its consumer unit is struggling to slow down the decline in sales. Overall, Dell is struggling. Now the company is planning to revamp its consumer unit with sales of new touchscreen laptops and tablets featuring Windows 8 OS.
