Motion Computing Motion CL900 Now Available

Motion Computing’s CL900 rugged tablet PC is now available for ordering, bearing a starting price tag of $899 and this device runs Windows 7 (Home Premium or Professional) and also based on Intel’s Oak Trail platform.Motion Computing Motion CL900 is powered a 1.5GHz Intel Oak Trail Atom Z670 processor and rocks a 10.1-inch, 1366×768 multi-touch display that’s shielded in Corning Gorilla Glass and have a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, with a 3.0-megapixel sensor keeping watch over the backside………..

 

Motion Computing‘s CL900 was first announced on Jan. 5, well in advance of Intel’s announcement of the Atom Z670, so it’s no surprise that it would be the first Oak Trail device to ship.Noting that the “1.5GHz Z670 is 60 percent smaller than previous generations,” Intel added that the 45nm processor is lead- and halogen-free, as is the SM35 I/O controller. The chipset supports high-definition audio and USB 2.0.Motion Computing‘s CL900 is not as rugged as some of the company’s previous tablets, but has a Corning Gorilla Glass screen and is said to meet the MIL-STD-810G standard for resistance to four-foot drops. It also has an IP52 rating for resistance to dust and liquids.The CL900 offers 1GB or 2GB of DDR2 RAM, plus SSD storage in 30GB or 62GB capacities. Its 10.1-inch screen is said to offer 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, capacitive touch, plus N-trig DuoSense technology that responds to an optional active pen.According to Motion Computing, the CL900 also features optional cameras: a 1.3 megapixel front-facing unit and a rear-facing device with up to three megapixels. Networking capabilities, meanwhile, include 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and an optional Qualcomm Gobi 3000 cellular modem that supports both GSM and WCDMA.It also have one USB port, a micro-HDMI video output, and a connector for an optional dock, the latter adding three USB ports and an Ethernet jack.
