Micro-Star International (MSI) recently decided to postpone its Wintel-based tablet PC, which was originally scheduled to launch in the third quarter, and will launch its Android 3.0-based model as the first tablet PC product by the end of March 2011, according to the company.
The Android-based 10.1-inch Wind Pad tablet PC is set to be priced below US$500 with integrated USB and HDMI ports and will target a different market than other tablet PCs. Engineering samples of the device are expected to be ready in December and the company is set to showcase the product at CES 2011.
