I am packing up and returning my wifes Christmas present-The Nextbook 8.4″ screen due to the fact the touch screen function with regards to the apt buttons, keyboard and most functions do not work or work only after touching very very hard several times! Calibration function shows problem during set up also. Really sorry to send back as the idea is great, screen size great, but no satisfaction to swap out for a new one as my emails, and message to Android go without a response. Purchased through HSN they were very nice about taking back for a full credit, but have no ability to exchange for a proper functioning unit.

Got one this week… NOT AN APPLE PRODUCT folks but bought it knowing that … new to android market… ereading.. LOTS to learn… but its really not bad for the price… some things are glitchy a bit… need to work with it and get to know how to get around things that annoy you most… has lots of cool features… think someone who said this OS has really heavy lifting to do on a tablet rather than a phone is right… not sure its up to tablet quality yet… but its really not bad… I suspect I will keep in long run and I have had no power issues… software issues… mainly me going to fast for it to catach up… you have to pace yourself. don’t expect an apple or a slick ass 500 tablet computer and your fine.

Mine wouldn’t turn on when I first got it (this is after the 6 hour charge). Had already called to get my money back, then low and behold it came on. It was really neat, I was impressed with it then I did the stupidest thing, I turned it off. It wouldn’t would turn on for about half a day. Just when I almost gave up, it came back on. I played with it, downloaded apps. Had a great ole time, then I chose to turn it off. And well what a tease… it NEVER came back on. Seriously why bother putting something like this out on the market if it doesn’t work properly. I could have spent my money on toilet paper, at least THAT would be useful. This product SUCKS!

I ordered one from HGN for 150$. It is so slow I can take an afterno nap. It took just fifteen minutes, count ’em, fffffffffffffffifteen minutes, to load http://www.androidzoom.com/ and it’s still not comPlete!? What kinda miracle is this? Do not ask me! I’m sending this one back. I have tried freeing up memory by killapps pre-loaded…I made an effort, several in fact, to DL various apps from Slyde

mine works great.  for high power stuff, use a computer, not an e reader.
