Nokia Meego Tablet Z500

Nokia was first rumored to be creating its own tablet as well partnering with Intel and the leaks were reported last summer. It was said that the ‘slate’ will be based on a new Meego platform (which is a combination of Maemo and Moblin) in which it will be catering ease in the platform because of using Intel Atom and ARMv7 architectures.

Eldar Murtazin has (Nokia Insider) explained in a tweet that the name / project name of Nokia Meego tablet could be “z500” because of the users who manage to replaced the page URL of Nokia Ovi store to Z500.

So far, the only specifications we have for this tablet is it will feature a 7 or 9 inch form-factor, will use OpenGL for games and it will an Arm-Based type of device (assuming it uses Meego for its platform) The expected release date of this one was Q4 but perhaps there will be some changes for it to be released later or sooner depending on Nokia.

Thanks
