WeTab is an interesting German tablet that features an 11.6-inch display and a custom Linux operating system based on MeeGo Linux.It sports a highly customizable user interface that includes a sidebar which you can use to navigate through apps, web pages, and widgets on the home screen.
While the WeTab isn’t available for purchase in the US, the team behind the tablet have released the developer tools for creating widgets for the platform — as well as the entire operating system which you can download and install in a virtual machine.
Since the OS is based on MeeGo, you can use the basic MeeGo Linux developer tools to write apps for the platform.
