FedEx, one of the largest logistics services company worldwide, is going green with the adoption electric vehicles (EV) in its fleet. Last year the company announced that it would more than double its number of EVs. This could reach as high as 9000 EVs. The logistics giant is converting it’s current fleet of vehicles as well as buying new EVs to realize its green dream.
FedEx is adopting the Nissan NV200 EV prototype in London, whereas it is converting 4,000-pound GVW trucks in the US. A company named Amp Electric Vehicles is currently doing a test run of the converted GVW trucks in Washington D.C.
If realized, the project would probably be the first of its kind from a commercial giant. Others should take a note from FedEx on cutting their carbon footprint and save the planet.
