If you own iPad 3 this tutorial will show you how to jailbreak your device on the 5.1.1 firmware using RedSn0w for Windows.

To get started follow steps below:

Step 1: Create a folder on your desktop and name it Pwnage.

Step 2: Using this link download the newest RedSn0w version and place it in the folder that u previous created in Step 1. Also download 5.1.1 firmware and place it inside PWnage folder (Note: if you are already using iOS 5.1.1 you don’t need to download the 5.1.1 firmware).

Step 3: Double click on RedSn0w zip file to extract him.

Step 4: (Note: If you already have installed iOS 5.1.1 you can start from Step 9). Use USB cable to connect you iPad to your PC and then go to iTunes application.

Step 5: From list of devices on the left side of the window find and select your iPad 3.

Step 6: When you have selected iPad hold down Shift button and click Restore. Restore is recommended because it won’t create wasted space on your iPad 3.

Step 7: Go to your desktop and click on Pwnage folder that you created at the beginning, find and select 5.1.1 firmware IPSW.

Step 8: To continue click on Choose button. iTunes will then update your iPad to the new firmware.

Step 9: Find the redsn0w folder that we extracted earlier, right-click on redsn0w application and from context menu choose Run as Administrator.

Step 10: From new window that opens up click on Jailbreak button.

Step 11: To complete this process there are 3 steps that Rocky Racoon needs to complete and they are: Preparing, Processing and Finishing up.

Step 12: When all steps are completed you will be notified that RedSn0w is finished. Your iPad will then reboot and it will be jailbroken with Cydia on the SprinBoard. This entire process should take around 10 minutes.
