Facebook launched its Nearby feature a while ago. Now, the social network has rolled out updates of the feature on both its iOS and Android apps. The updated Nearby lets you find such places near you where your friends have been.
Imagine walking into a town and trying to find a good place to have lunch at. You can simply log on to your Facebook app and using Nearby, find out if any of your friends in the town had lunch at any of the restaurants nearby.
Not only that, you can check out a vast range of other business locations to see their business hours and that whether or not anyone in your virtual social circle has been to those places.
Moreover, you can also share your own experiences with your e-friends. Just rate a given location to which you have been and it becomes visible to your friends on Facebook.
The social network is promising that this is an early update to the Nearby feature and more is yet to come. It is also encouraging Facebook users to actively make use of Nearby, claiming that the more people use it, the better will be the results for them.
The update for the apps has already been rolled out and in all probability, it has already landed on your smartphone. Do check out the update Nearby and let us know your thoughts on it.
