It is not uncommon to catch a viral disease from a friend or a family member. In such conditions, nothing feels better than to put the blame on somebody else. A new Facebook app aims to help you in this regard, by finding the culprit who may be most likely to have caused your illness.

Help Remedies Facebook app

The new Facebook app by Help Remedies is more of a fun exercise at identifying who among your friends has been going to doctors or has been stating symptoms of different diseases.

The app scans through the available information of your friends and goes through the status updates, check-ins and other information to see whether or not any of your friends is suffering or recently suffered from a disease.

Once it determines which of your friends is suffering from what, it then tells who is the ‘prime suspect’ in getting you sick. Although, in all, the app is a fun activity, it does give insight into how social media can be used to track the spread of different diseases.

In recent past, a number of researchers have utilized Twitter and Facebook to keep tabs on different disease outbreaks. Quite surprisingly, the social media provided valuable information to accurately gauge the outbreak and devise measures to curb it.
