FullContact Gets Updated With New Phone Lookup Feature

FullContact has been one of the most popular tools which are used by users on the mobile platform to have their contacts list sorted and updated. The company has now rolled out an update for its app which will make finding people in the contacts list even more easier.

Earlier, you could discover people by their Twitter handle, email id as well as Facebook username within your contacts list with the help of FullContact. Now, FullContact also allows you to look up people using their phone numbers.

According to the company, it’s somewhat of a ‘Social Caller ID’, “You can think of FullContact phone lookup as “Social Caller ID”; you pass us a phone number, we resolve the identity and return all of the relevant contact information associated with that person.”

However, since this is a new feature and has only recently been added to FullContact, it will take some time before it can serve the users effectively enough. It is for this reason that the company still encourages the users to rely more on looking up contacts using Facebook usernames and Twitter handles. According to the company, for now, the match rate for Phone Lookup will be much low compared to other look up options.

Over time, though, the team has plans of adding a lot more phone numbers to their system which will make Phone Lookup more effective, yielding a higher match rate.
