Send People Self-destructing Messages Via OTR App From Your Computer!

We all know that Snapchat and Facebook’s Poke are immensely popular app which allows users to send out self-destructing photos, videos or texts. Last Thursday, New York-based app maker Lamplighter Games launched a new browser app named ‘Off The Record (OTR)‘ that lets users send messages and that disappear within 5 seconds of being read.

Kris Minkstein, who co-founded OTR with his brother Andy said, “We both love using Snapchat, so we thought it would be fun to put Snapchat in the browser. We figured since you’re in front of your computer all day at work that you’re going to end up sending a lot of these photos to probably the guys sitting next to you at your cubicle.” He also said that OTR is meant for having fun and “It’s not meant for ultra-secure communications or anything crazy like that.”

OTR is available for Google Chrome. It will also be available soon on other browsers too. Here’s a demo video of OTR.
