Apple CEO Steve Jobs To Co-operate His Authorized Biography: The New York Times

At last, Steve Jobs is assisting to make the authorized biography of him. Though Apple didn’t assure it, we got the news from The New York Times [NYT]. According to the report of NYT, the former managing editor of Time magazine, Walter Isaacson, will write Jobs’ biography. two sources confirmed NYT about the author of the biography.

We know Steve Jobs very well. But here is the chance to know his childhood, his struggle career, forming Apple, rejoining Apple again. NYT says that Steve Jobs has personally invited Walter Isaacson to tour his childhood home.

Now Apple’s chief executive is set to collaborate on an authorized biography, to be written by Walter Isaacson, the former managing editor of Time magazine, according to two people briefed on the project.

The book, which is in the early planning stages, would cover the entire life of Mr. Jobs, from his youth in the area now known as Silicon Valley through his years at Apple, these people said.

There are two biographies of Apple CEO in the market. One is “iCon: Steve Jobs, the Greatest Second Act in the History of Business,” written by Jeffrey S. Young and William L. Simon, and the other one is “The Second Coming of Steve Jobs,” written by Alan Deutschman.

Steve was furious about these two biographies, because both of them are unauthorized. According to NYT, he became so angry that he told Apple store to remove all other books of the same publishers of the unauthorized biographies temporarily.

Mr. Jobs will be 55 years old this 24th February. Quite a long journey for this successful high-tech innovator. Cooperation with Mr. Isaacson will bring us the remarkable story of Steven P. Jobs.

Isaacson is the author of two other best-selling biographies are “Einstein: His Life and Universe” and “Benjamin Franklin: An American Life.” He also wrote “American Sketches: Great Leaders, Creative Thinkers, and Heroes of a Hurricane,” a collection of essays written last year delving into the roots of great leadership. All of his books have been published by Simon & Schuster.

Mr. Isaacson is currently the chief executive and president of the Aspen Institute, a nonprofit education and policy studies organization based in Washington.

Apple didn’t want comment on this. Katie Cotton, an Apple spokeswoman, said the company does not comment on rumors.
