When Apple unveiled Siri, it was hailed as one of the best voice-based personal assistants. The crown remains with Siri to this day. Now, it is being reported that Microsoft is readying a voice-based personal assistant of its own called ‘Cortana.’
Sony has announced at Gamescom event in Germany that its PlayStation 4 console will reach European retailers on 29 November. Sony will sell its latest console price for £349 in the UK and $399 (£254) in the United States.
Earlier this month Microsoft announced that it would shut down the Games for Windows Live marketplace on August 22. But now it seems like Microsoft has planned to shut down the entire Games for Windows Live service. Microsoft support page hints that the company will shut down Games For Windows Live on July 1, 2014.

Earlier we reported that Mexico based Ayotle in collaboration with Paris based ad agency Digitas Labs has created AnyTouch that can turn any surface into a touchscreen. And now reports have it that another company Ubi Interactive has devised Ubi that can turn any surface into a touch-screen.
According to rumors, Amazon is working on an Android game console. The console, along with a dedicated controller, is expected to ship this holiday season. Amazon will also offer digital games, sold through its online store, for the console.
Gaming behemoth Zynga has announced that it will shut down OMGPOP’s online gaming portal omgpop.com on September 30. No doubt, this closure will affect multiple games from the service, both on Facebook and through its own portal.
NVIDIA Shield is a handheld gaming console capable of playing Android games as well as streaming PC games from Steam. NVIDIA has confirmed that it will start shipping the NVIDIA Shield on July 31st.
