While the technology has been getting cheaper and more efficient as of late, Paul Peng says that the production costs are still too high and yield rates too low for large OLED TVs to be feasible for commercial use any time before 2014.

Logitech’s loss in Q1 was compounded by the significant impact of the decision to reduce the price of Logitech Revue from $249 to $99 during Q2. The action was taken with the goal of accelerating adoption of the Google TV platform by removing price as a barrier to broad consumer acceptance.

Motorola Solutions, Inc. announced today their second-quarter 2011 results highlighted by sales of $2.1 billion, up 6 percent from the second quarter of 2010. Government segment sales were $1.3 billion, up 4 percent and $747 million for enterprise, up four and 11 percent from the year-ago quarter. BBC is offering European users access to British TV programming with the launch of the new global BBC iPlayer app, which is available exclusively on iPad and this brand-new video on demand subscription service will launching first in Western Europe will deliver the award-winning programming upon which the BBC’s history and heritage is built to viewers in 11 markets. It will cost 6.99 euro per month (£6.14) with the option of an annual subscription priced at 49.99 euro (£44) and the international product will look and feel similar to the UK iPlayer, but function in a different way. The app will allow for downloading as well as streaming and marks a pilot phase for the service, which should hopefully reach the former colonial outpost of America before too long……………..
