Apple scooped a major victory against Samsung when a Californian court awarded it $1 billion in damages after finding Samsung guilty of infringing numerous patents. The verdict was a huge blow to Samsung. Now, both companies have stated that they are utterly unsatisfied with the verdict and would pursue further legal action against each other.
Samsung and Motorola have been having a rather bad time against Apple in the legal battles. The iPhone maker has dealt a few important defeats to both of these companies and they have been fervently trying to get back at Apple. However, they have bagged a minor win now that a German court has exempted them from patent infringement charges.
Last month, Apple won a $1 billion dollar victory over Samsung on patent infringement. But, two are heading for a new patent battle. Because, Samsung is preparing to sue Apple over LTE patents, and it seems to be standing on strong grounds with 10 percent of key LTE patents in its portfolio.
