Virgin Galactic Now Owns The SpaceShip Company 100%

Virgin Galactic is the world’s first commercial spaceline. The company provides sub-orbital spaceflights to space tourists, suborbital launches for space science missions and orbital launches of small satellites. However, this company has announced October 5 that it has taken the full (100%) ownership of its sister company, The Spaceship Company (TSC).

Virgin Galactic

In The SpaceShip Company, Virgin Galactic had a share of 70% and Scaled Composites (Scaled) had 30% shares. There was a deal between Virgin Galactic and Scaled that Scaled would handover the 30% stake, WhiteKnightTwo (WK2) carrier aircraft, and  the development program of SpaceShipTwo (SS2), a manned sub-orbital spacecraft to Virgin Galactic before Virgin Galactic starts commencing commercial operations. However the WK2 and SS2 will be utilized for Virgin Galactic’s planned spaceline operations. And according to Virgin Galactic’s announcement on October 5, the company has acquired 30% shares of Scaled and has become the only owner of The SpaceShip Company.
